Change of Heart: A bulking attempt

Hey Shredders

Well, ive been pondering over this since i completed Phase 1...
Im going into the Aif Force and I need to be prepared as much as possible.
18 kg away from now my mission was to lose weight and become more in the average zone and fitter.
Now i am happy to say that i dont hate my body anymore.
And whereas im not entirely satisfied yet, i have decided to go with a different approach.
Ill need strength and endurance more than anything when i finally join, and when i take my phisical test for my job in october.
I know from experience and from reading it on all kinds of sites including adams blog, that gaining muscle is a very hard task while on a calorie defecit.
Its easier at the beginning, as your body is shocked, however lateron it gets harder.
According to my new BMR, i can take in 2110 calories while resting all day to maintain.
For extremely vigorous workout,(which i plan to be engaging in 6 days of the week) i am supposed to multiply this by 1.9
That leaves me at 4000 calories a day.
I wont be consuming 4000 calories of course.
And i still will have a slight calorie deficit.
However my losing weight will most likely become somewhat slower.

Ill be taking in 3 protein shakes a day, containing roughly 50 g of protein in each.
Also ill be going for 2 portions of tuna over the day, going 45 g of protein each.
And lastly ill be going with my normal lunch in the middle of the day, giving me roughly 30 grams of protein.
Altogether my new diet will reach up to about 3000 calories if im not mistaken.
I really dont mind gaining weight if its in muscle.

However im going to have to find something more accurate than my scale.
As i demostrated in a former post, the percentages dont add up in the slightest.
ALl summed up it counts to about 118 % instead of to 100 %.
I really dont get it.
PLEASE leave a comment if you have any ideas on how to measure it myself somehow.

Anyways, i hope you all understand what im getting at here. For my purposes i need to put, getting stronger at the top of my list, directly followed my losing weight.

Thanks for reading.
Shred on

Danny

P.S.: You cant imagine how motivated i feel right now

Hi Danny, good luck on your new mission.

With regard to measuring your body composition, get yourself and learn how to use a skin caliper like the Accu-Measure. I can tell you, it's visually satisfying when you pinch you skin and see it shrinking before your eyes.

Danny,
You do need to eat more when you are going to gain lean body mass. You also MUST LIFT HEAVY. Increasing progressive resistance is the way to go.

Visualize the way you want to look when the muscle is packed on.

Think Big!
